Murals and Shops in Downtown Tucson

Shopping Down Town

Shopping downtown in Tucson is a hidden gem, because you will find the most random shops!  I highly recommend visiting in the fall when the weather peaks in the 70’s, perfect for strolling down 4th Ave. to see Hotel Congress and their bar-crawl street.  This time around, I walked around 6th Ave. and stumbled upon Johnny Gibson’s Downtown Market, to find out that Friday’s they offer live music on their patio for an evening outing option.

Murals and Art Scene

Tucson is known for their murals downtown and you can find some of these pieces in the most unexpected places!

Buildings Downtown

If you are planning a trip downtown, you have to grab lunch at the El Charro, right next to the St. Augustine Cathedral. This Cathedral is integral to the history of Tucson, built in 1896.

El Charro

The El Charro was started by Monica Flyn in 1922 and is considered to be the oldest Mexican Restaurant in the United States that has been owned by the same family.  Fun fact: Monica Flin is famous for the invention of the Chimichanga!
